Carolyn M. Rathjen, 85, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 30 years, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2002. Carolyn was born December 5, 1916 the daughter of Frederick and Anna Ebel Triebe in New York. She was the beloved wife of Carl Henry Rathjen who preceded her in death. She was the loving mother of Carl, Howard, and Warren; Guiding light for Ana, Ann Marie, Lisa, and Lynne; Good friend of Bunny, Marie, Marion, Mildred, Terry, Toni and Vera. Carolyn was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church; member of the Altar Rosary Society; member of the Felician Auxiliary; and a member of the St. Felix Pantry volunteer program. The Memorial Rosary Service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 6, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish with a reception to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Fr. D'Arco Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Felician Sisters, 4210 Meadowlark Lane, SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 or to St. Felix Pantry, 4020 Barbara Loop, SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
