Obituary for Sanchez

3/29/1933 - 4/5/2002. Jose Santos Sanchez Sr., 69, of Los Lunas, New Mexico passed away April 5, 2002 at the Sandia Hospice Pavilion following a long time illness. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Sanchez was born in Tahique, New Mexico to Fernandez Sanchez and Natividad Griego, who preceded him in death. Jose is survived by his sweetheart, Priscilla (Crise) Sanchez of Los Lunas; his sons, Christobal, Manuel, Jose Santos Jr., John Paul; his daughters, Patricia Sanchez Rivera, Patsy Gonzales, Kathy Sedillo; his sisters, Pauline Baca, and Nena Pena; his in-laws, Ramona Telles, Molly Smedley, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernesto Anzures Sr.; his many grandchildren, Anthony Sanchez, Christina Sanchez, Javier Rivera Jr., Stephanie and Marlene Sanchez, Richard, Steven, and Gracie Gonzales, Ricardo, Michael, Tonya Sedillo, Liz Ramirez, Josie Vallejos, Andree Casas, Amanda Naranjo, and Manuel Joseph Sanchez; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends from all over the country. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 6:00pm at Romero Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with interment at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery, Albuquerque, NM.
