Lillian Martin (Bates) went to be with her Lord, Monday, April 15, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Ken Bates and wife, Priscilla, Don Bates and wife, Carol; daughter, Betty Wimpy and husband, Charles; sister, Wilma Tanner; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Martin helped pioneer numerous Assembly of God Churches including Highland Assembly of God in Albuquerque (now Tramway Community Church). She will be missed by numerous others who knew and loved her. Services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Jeff Wimpy officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Kerry Bates, Wayne Wimpy, Anthony Raymer, Burley Cannon III, Matthew Raymer, Jarod Wright, and Kendall Bates. Honorary pallbearers will be John Raymer, Daryl Wright, Burley Cannon II, Charles Wimpy, and Leonard Leyba. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
