Obituary for Loague

Nellie D. Jones Loague, 95, a resident of Belen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2002. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Belen. She was born on January 7, 1907 in Williams County, Tennessee to Lon and Fannie (Petway) Arthur. Nellie moved to New Mexico in September of 1925 after her marriage to the late H.O. Jones, who preceded her in death in 1960. In 1962, Nellie married Clint Loague and moved to Clovis, NM. where she resided until his death in 1981. She then returned to Belen in 1987 and resided there until her passing. Nellie was the one of the best cook's that ever lived. Her passion was in canning, crocheting, cleaning, and cooking, as she was a true homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her two brothers, Henchie and Hillard. She is survived by; her sons, Doug and his wife, Francie of Pueblo West, Colorado, and Barney and his wife, Sue of Los Lunas, NM; five grandchildren, Hal and his wife, Glenda, Dan and his wife, Darla, and Holly and her husband, Gerald, all of Texas, Barney, Jr. and his wife, Laurie, and Jeff and his wife, Janice, both of Los Lunas; eight great-grandsons; and four great-granddaughters, Jonathan, Tyler, Koby, Kaleb, Mindy, and Blair, all of Texas, Matthew of New Mexico, and Jay, of California, Joshua, Adam, and Mandy, all of New Mexico, and Molly of New York; one great-great-granddaughter; and great-great-grandson, Autumn and Erik of New Mexico. She is also survived by; one niece, Patsy, and her family of Tennessee. The family requests that donations be made in Nellie's name to the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven, NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120-9920. A viewing will be held on Monday, April 22, 2002 at Romero Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p. m. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at Fairview Cemetery with Jack Sellars officiating at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
