Obituary for Fogel

Richard Fogel, 47 of Massachusetts died of heart disease on May 10, 2002 in Provincetown, MA while camping with his family. The son of Joan and Louis Fogel, Ricky was born in Grand Rapids, MI in 1954. He attended East Grand Rapids High School, graduated from University of Michigan Residential College in 1980 and earned a Masters of Education from the University Massachusetts/Amherst in 1983, a Masters of Science in Community Economic Development from New Hampshire College in 1986 and a Certificate in Elementary and Secondary Education from the University of New Mexico/Albuquerque in 1996. Ricky married Mary Dent in 1988. They traveled widely, living and working in South and Central America, New Mexico, Wisconsin and Michigan as wewll as in western Massachusetts. Ricky was an educator and community organizer. He worked at Wellness Networks in Traverse City from 1990 to 1992 and was most recently employed as the Outreach and Communications Coordinator at the Food Bank Farm in Hadley, MA. Ricky touched so many lives and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Ricky is survived by his wiffe, Mary; sons, Louis, nine and Jack, five; brothers, Steven of Williamstown, MA, Davide of Federal Way, WA, Dan of Grand Rapids, MI, and Noton of Ann Arbor, MI; one niece, nine nephews, an aunt and an uncle.
