Obituary for Crowder

Sylvia Crowder, 77, who first moved to Albuquerque in 1932, died on Sunday, May 12, 2002. She suffered with emphysema but passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side. She is survived by her daughter, Carolie Jornigan; son, Gerald W. Crowder and wife, Kathryn; grandchildren, Wendy Deluca, Matthew Crowder, Nathan Crowder and his wife, Brandy, all of Albuquerque; sister, Jane Echohawk; brother, Dorsey Conrad and wife, Jeanetta; numerous nieces, nephews; and many friends. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Conrad; her brother, David; and her husband of 52 years, Kenneth. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her skills as a cook, homemaker, and seamstress were unsurpassed and a joy to her husband and family. She and her husband, traveled extensively on his work assignments across the U.S. and in South America. The family would like to thank Dr. Frank Comunas, his nurse Monica, and Presbyterian Hospice for their great tenderness and care. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd. NE.
