Obituary for Atkinson

Robert D. Atkinson, beloved son of (mom) Tara M. Atkinson and (dad) Dwayne A. Atkinson, died at 11:42 a.m., Sunday, May 12, 2002 at University Hospital of New Mexico. Robbie was born Monday, January 10, 1994 in Albuquerque. He attended 2nd grade at Osuna Elementary School where he enjoyed his teacher and classmates. He was enrolled at Eubank Day School for 6 years where he played with his friends and teachers before and after school. Robbie loved outdoors, especially camping, fishing, swimming and having water gun and balloon fights, riding his bike and playing with his soccer and basketball with his neighborhood friends. He was a very loving and caring child to everyone he met. He overcame many obstacles in his short little life, including health problems such as hernia surgeries, RSV (lung virus), asthma and migrational seizures. Despite all of this adversity, he was a happy, vibrant, very much loved little boy. He was his mother's"Big Guy." His mother and father in Albuquerque, grandparents and great-grandparents in New Mexico and Texas, his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends survive him. Robert will be greatly missed. He is in the hands of our Lord. Services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2002, 2:00 p.m. at Believers Center of Albuquerque located at 320 Waterfall Dr. SE. A memorial fund for Robert Atkinson has been established at the Bank of the West to help the family with funeral expenses. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
