Obituary for Sanchez

Nancy M. Sanchez, 78, a resident of Pueblitos, NM, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2002. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church; a life time member of the Sacred Heart and an Auxiliary member of the VFW. She was active with the Catechism class, teaching first through eighth grade. Nancy and her husband, Adolfo were Mayordomos of the San Isidro Mission for three terms. Nancy was a teacherand a substitute teacher for the Belen Public Schools, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. Preceding her in death were her parents, Pedro Sanchez and Guadalupe Chavez Sanchez; and one brother, Eduardo"Lalo" Sanchez. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Adolfo Sanchez; four children, Joan S. Romero and Max of Pueblitos, Dr. Roland Kent Sanchez and his wife, Elia of Bosque, Adolph Phillip Sanchez Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Bosque; Fred P. Sanchez and his wife, Therese of Albuquerque; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Orlando Sanchez and his wife, Bernie of Belen. She is also survived by her many loving aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Nancy appreciated and gained strength from all the help and prayers she received from her relatives; friends; Priest and religious groups who prayed in her many years of illness and all the physicians and staff at St. Josephs Hospital who helped her also. All service will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with visitation being held on Tuesday, May 21 at 10:30 a.m.; a Rosary being recited by Jose Maria Perea at 11:00 a.m. and a Funeral Mass being celebrated by Father David & Father Tom at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Max-Jayde Romero; Michael Layton; Joshua; Adolfo; and Nathan Sanchez and Roland Sanchez II. Romero Funeral Home, Belen, NM.
