Obituary for Nunez

Josephine Nunez, 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1940, passed away peacefully Friday, May 17, 2002. She was a strong and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Josephine handled her illness and her life with courage and grace. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ramon; daughters, Mary Nunez, Bernadette Nunez and Jean Grodner and husband Brian; son, Robert Nunez and wife Alicia; grandsons, Randy Nunez, Robert Nunez Jr., and Michael Nunez; great granddaughter Angelique Nunez, niece Margie Maestas, who had a special relationship with Josephine and Josephine's mother, and Margie's husband Paul and many other nieces and nephews. She worked for Albuquerque Public Schools, retiring in 1986. Josephine was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. It has been said,"What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others remains and is immortal. Josephine was always completely and unselfishly devoted to her family and a cheerful trusted friend. She remains an inspiring motivating force for all who love her, and will miss her, so very much. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Claremont and Virginia Streets, Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE on Monday May 20, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to The American Lung Association of NM, 216 Truman NE, 87108.
