Obituary for Riggs

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday June 04, 2002

Hazel Louise Riggs, known to family and friends as"Jackie" passed away in the morning hours of June 1, 2002. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Pamela Wymer; her aunt, Louise Steele; her sister, Peggy Peskuski and brother-in-law, Bob Peskuski; grandson, Jason Riggs; granddaughters, Jazelle Parsons, Amber Tiffin and April Wymer; great-granddaghter, Cailyn Parsons and daughter-in-law, Hazel Riggs. Jackie was born in Cadiz, Kentucky in 1923, and moved to New Mexico in 1951. She was a fiery red head with a wacked sense of humor. She loved to fish, and she could instantly pack her bags at the mere mention of a road trip. She loved New Mexico, but Kentucky was always her home. We will miss the stories told in her gentle Southern accent. We mourn her passing, but find comfort that she has now joined her father, Jack Roach; her husband, Orval"Bill" Riggs; and her loving son, Bill Riggs. Goodbye, Mama Jack. Graveside Services for Ms. Riggs will be Tuesday, June 4, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Paul Gleason officiating. In lieu of flowers, we ask that charitable donations be made to Sandia Hospice at 4725 Indian School NE, 87110. Hillcrest Funeral Home 225 San Mateo NE 265-5959
