Reinaldo M. Valdez, 83, A resident of Espanola passed away Friday, June 7, 2002. He is preceded in death by; his parents, Alejandro and Francisquita Valdez and; a sister, Amelia Trujillo. He is survived by; his wife, Margaret T. Valdez of the family home; his children, J. Alex Valdez and wife, Rosemary of La Mesilla, Edward F. Valdez and wife, Margarita of Minnesota, Maria Pouwels and husband, John of Dallas, TX; eight grandchildren, Jessica Marie Valdez, Alexis Valdez, Angela Valdez, Rebecca Valdez, Edward Valdez II, Daniel Valdez, Carlie Anne Pouwels and Danielle Pouwels; two brothers, Arthur Valdez and wife, Carmen and Rudolfo Valdez; a sister-in-law, Dolores Velasquez; brother-in-law, Pete Trujillo and wife, Delfinia; a close family friend, Irene Montoya; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A visitation for Mr. Valdez will be on Monday, June 10, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the Block-Salazar Mortuary Chapel until rosary time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Espanola with the Reverend Father, Augustine Moore officiating. Interment will follow 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Assisting the family as pallbearers will be; Carlos Valdez, Arthur Valdez II, Phillip Valdez, Alfred Torrez, Armando Lucero and David Velasquez.
