Esther Labastida went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2002. She was born on May 10, 1911 in Mexico City, Mexico. She is survived by; three daughters, Aurora Villanueva, Elisa L. Gijon and husband, Ignacio and Yolanda L. Gonzalez and husband, Roberto; two sons, Enrique Labastida and wife, Juana and Gorje Labastida and wife, Maria; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Esther will be deeply missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held on Monday in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. A Communion service will be celebrated on Tuesday at San Jose Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be; Gorje Labastida, Enrique Labastida Sr., Rafael Labastida, Enrique Labastida Jr., Juan Labastida and Edgar Labastida. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222.
