Obituary for Atencio

Fred Atencio Jr. Died Monday, June 10, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 91. He was a World War II Veteran. He was also a member of the Albuquerque Philharmonic for 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Fanny Atencio; five grandchildren, Rose Mary Maguire and husband, Brian, James Armijo, Teresa Vedral, Greg Armijo, Fernando Armijo; brother, Phillip Atencio and wife, Justine; sisters, Teresa Atencio, Grace Silva all from Albuquerque. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. where the Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phillip E. Atencia Jr., James E. Armijo, Steve Vedral, Grag M. Armijo, Fernando M. Armijo, and Rudy P. Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Eddie Adames, Joe Walters, Oscor Meldenson, Bill Swift, Chuck Swift, Betsy Nicholes, and Christy Muller. Visitations will be held Thursday form 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary 400 3rd St. S.W.
