John M. Powell, Jr., 58, a resident of Albuquerque for the last four years, died on June 15, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Jessica of Albuquerque; daughters, Elizabeth Powell and Shannon M. Powell of Honeoye Falls, New York; sons, David Powell and wife, Renee of St. Mary's, GA and John Powell and wife, Karen of Victor, NY; sister, Hope McBride and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Chelsea, Sydney, Kenny, Perry, and Josh. John was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy as a SEAL. He was a former professional boxer. John worked in the automotive industry for over 30 years. He was a partner in ATcon working as a consultant. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle in New Mexico. Private Disposition has taken place. French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW.
