Obituary for Ramirez

Antonia P. Ramirez born in Leon GTO, Mexico on November 7, 1912 married Antonio Ramirez and was a loving mother of seven children. She immigrated to the United States in 1960. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to helping others, specifically caring for Arlene Arregoni, infant child of Al and Rena Arregoni, who subsequently passed away and Casa Angelica was established in her memory. Mrs. Ramirez was a member of the Sacred Heart League of San Jose Church. She was known for giving"La Bendicion" to all who knew her, friends and relatives would cherish her blessings. Mrs. Ramirez was very strong in her Catholic faith, her patron saint was San Martin De Porres. Every November for the last thirty five years Mrs. Ramirez hosted a celebration on his birthday, the yearly celebration grew from humble beginning's that started out as a Rosary with her family and continues as a celebration for the entire community. Her cooking was her pride and joy making sure no one left her house hungry. Mrs. Ramirez was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Ramirez, daughter Maria Ramirez, sons, Jose Luis Ramirez and Anthony"Tony" Ramirez, daughter-in-law, Estefannita H. Ramirez; and granddaughter, Monica Ramirez. Mrs. Ramirez is survived by her daughter of the home, Alicia and Javier Villegas; son, Vicente Ramirez; granddaughter, Martha and Gilbert Sanchez; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff of Paloma Blanca Nursing Home for the care and love shown to our beloved Mom and grandmother. A Rosay will be recited on Tuesday evening at San Jose Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning also at San Jose Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vincent Ramirez Jr., Mark Ramirez, Gilbert Sanchez Jr., Raul Chavez, Anthony Ramirez III and Michael Anthony Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Ramirez, David Ramirez, Vincent Ramirez, Benny Montoya Jr., Patrick Ramirez, Patrick Ray Chavez Jr. and Michael Anthony Ramirez Jr. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. S.W, 243-5222.
