Obituary for Garcia

Virginia C. Garcia, 67, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Thursday, June 20, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Perfecto Garcia and wife, Rhonda of Belen, Andy Garcia, Michael Garcia and wife, Maria, Richard Garcia and wife, Priscilla; daughters, Darlene Otero and Marlene Garcia; granddaughters, Malanie Otero, Chantel Garcia, Shirray Garcia, all of Albuquerque and Randi Garcia of Belen; grandsons, Mario Pena, Miguel Garcia, Antonio Garcia all of Houston, TX, Russell Garcia of Belen, Richard Garcia, Jr. and Robert Garcia, both of Albuquerque; great-grandsons, Joseph Aragon and Angelo Aragon; sisters, Salome Lopez and husband, Joe, Bertha Herrera and husband, Felipe and Celina Chavez and husband, Precy; and special friends for over 20 years, Joe Sanchez and family, all of Albuquerque. Mrs. Garcia was a prolific ceramic artist. She was a special friend to everyone and a grandmother nana to everyone in the neighborhood. Mrs. Garcia was the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Gabriela Nieto reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 9:00 a.m., at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd. SW, with Father Bill Sanchez, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mario Pena, Miguel Garcia, Antonio Garcia, Russell Garcia, Richard Garcia, Jr. and George Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Malanie Otero, Chantel Garcia, Randi Garcia, Shirray Garcia, Robert Garcia, Joseph Sanchez and Mike Aragon. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
