Obituary for Wasinger

Raymond J."The Music Man", 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Florence"Mickey" Wasinger of Albuquerque; son, R.J. Wasinger II, and wife, Janice; grandson, Ray J. Wasinger and wife, Carolyn; granddaughter, Bernadette Wasinger and her three children, all of Buffalo, NY; brother, William Wasinger; sister-in-law, Joan Wasinger; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Wasinger and Clara Humig Wasinger; brother, George Wasinger Jr.; sister, Arlene Williams; and sister-in-law, Betty Wasinger. Mr. Wasinger was born July 13, 1922 in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Wasinger fought in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific Theater. Mr. Wasinger was well known for his thirty years of entertaining Veterans at the VA Hospital here in Albuquerque. He was a professional photographer in Buffalo, NY until 1966, when he went blind. At that time he learned to play the organ. He and his wife moved to Albuquerque in 1969 because of health problems. Mr. Wasinger was a life member of DAV Chapter 32. Rosary will be recited Sunday, July 7, 2002, at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 8, 2002, 10:30 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE, with Father Julian Rousseau, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Sunday, July 7, 2002 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Federation of the Blind, P. O.
