Obituary for Padilla

Delfino G. Padilla, age 79, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, died on Friday, July 5, 2002, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 10, 1923 in Madrid, NM. Mr. Padilla was preceded in death by his wife, Nicolasita; two sisters; and a brother. He is survived by his son, Joe Padilla and his wife, Kathi; daughter, Eloisa Campos; son, Robert Padilla and companion and close friend of the family, Susan Stewart of Albuquerque; daughter, Doris Bencomo and her husband, Efren; daughter, Delores Vannoy; son, Tony Padilla; sisters, Cora Gonzales and her husband, Alfonso, Margaret Grill-Carter and her husband, Ken of Rio Rancho; brother, Frank Padilla and his wife, Joann of Albuquerque; seven granddaughters; four grandsons; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Padilla served with the US Army during WWII. He worked as a route driver for Coors Distributing. Visitation will begin on Sunday, July 7, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 8, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Community. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
