Obituary for Perea

Eugene Perea died on Thursday July 18, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 81. He was Born Oct 26, 1921. He was raised in Torrance and Lincoln County. He graduated from UNM in Albuq. He was good in basketball and track. He served in the U.S. Signal Corps. from July 1942 to Dec 1945 in the Continental U.S.and South Pacific Theatre, under the command of General Douglas McArthur. He served as a Technical Sargent in Communications Secret Service. He was proceded in death by his wife, Della O. Perea; and brothers, Ernest, Jose, Antonio and Julian Perea; sisters, Abrella Garza, Jessie Baca, Carmen Romero Lena Cordova; son-in-law, Fred Mora. He worked for the State of NM. Taxation and Revenue as well as purchasing. He was self employed in tax work and operated a ranching cattle operations which he loved and was very successful. He is survived by his son, Eugene Patrick Perea and Felicia Mora; daughters, Dolores Crollett and husband, Richard, and Connie Mora; brother, Nicholas S. Perea; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Perea will be held Monday at St. Charles Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Richard Perea, Gilbert Perea, J.J. Romero, Jake Perea, Daniel Mora, and Ronald Perea, Honorary pallberars will be Michael Perea, Chris Cordova, Edward Ybarra, Michael Rohde, and Diego Sedillo. Rosary service will be held Sunday at 7pm at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary 400 3rd St. S.W.
