Obituary for Pecha

Diana Estella Britton Pecha, 87, of Albuquerque, died July 20, 2002. She was born in Big Rapids, Michigan, May 30th, 1915. Diana had seven brothers. She was the only daughter of Ethel and John Q. Britton. Diana and her husband, Clifford Pecha, and children, Connie and James moved to Albuquerque in 1950. Diana was a professional artist. Her works won many awards and are in collections throughout the United States. She was a life member of the National League of Pen Women, Yucca Branch, and served as their chaplain. She studied art at the University of New Mexico. Her southwestern landscapes, portraits and still-life paintings are treasured by many. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Albuquerque. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Welty and husband, Rod of Rogers, Arkansas; son, James Pecha and wife, Sharon of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Rebekah Diane Welty-Ford of Garfield, Arkansas; four brothers, Donald Britton of Marquette, Michigan, Ronald Britton of Limestone, Michigan, Rev. Everett Britton of Bear, Delaware, and Clifford Stanley Britton of Marquette, Michigan. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE, with Deacon Wayne Welty officiating. Entombment will follow at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Rod Welty, Wayne Welty, James Ford, Don Britton, Jr. and Jim Anderson. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
