Mrs. Miquelita N. (Mickey) Tafoya, 69, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family on Monday, July 22, 2002. Mrs. Tafoya is the beloved wife of 51 years to Mr. Amarante Tafoya; her children, Eugene Tafoya, Lorraine Sanchez, Gladys Apodaca and husband, Dan, Tommy Tafoya, Gino and Angela Tafoya; three brothers, Fred Fernandez, Steve Fernandez and Bonifacio Fernandez; four sisters, Felia Maestas, Eloisa Maestas, Mary Torres and Jenny Medina; four grandchildren, Freddy Sanchez, Nathan Sanchez, Daniel Apodaca and Christopher Apodaca; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Tafoya was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitaiton for Mrs. Tafoya will be Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Eileen Montoya. A final visitation will be Thursday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. by Father Gene Gries. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Pallbeareres will be, Bobby Tafoya, Efren Medina, Lorenzo Maestas, Danny Fernandez, Marty Maestas and Nathan Sanchez; honorary pallbearers will be, Gerald Maestas, Art Leyba and Leonard Fernandez. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW in charge of the arrangements.
