Esther Clark Richards, died in Albuquerque on Sunday, July 28, 2002. Esther was born 96 years ago in Rangoon, Burma, the second child of missionary teacher parents Ambrose and Ora Newell Rice. Married Lloyd Richards in 1929, widowed in 1998 after 59 years of marriage. Survived by two siblings of six, William Rice of Northampton, MA and Ruth Nichols of Amarillo TX; three loving children, Lloyd W. of Ft Washington, MD, Kenneth L. of Albuquerque, and Elisabeth A. Newcomer of Overland Park, KS; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Esther unselfishly devoted her life to nurture those she loved. She was musical, intellectually daring, tolerant, and universally loved and respected. Memorial services will be held in communities across the country where the members of her extended family reside. Please donate to Hospices in lieu of flowers.
