Marjorie is remembered by her sons and their friends for the active and loving roles she played in their lives. Marjorie was team mother in her sons' sports leagues; and she instituted a Jr. Great Books program in Corrales. She was active in PTA. She loved to organize special birthday parties and camping trips for her sons and their friends, and she made her home a center for neighborhood children where she would bake cakes and cookies; and later she enjoyed baking with her grandson, Kyle. She enjoyed casual luncheons and dinners and informal gatherings with family and friends. During the holidays Marjorie prepared traditional Swedish dishes for her family and guests. Her interest in cookery is reflected in a popular cookbook of Spanish tapes she co-authored with her husband. Music was a passion and joy for Marjorie. Before and after coming to Albuquerque, she was a church organist, played cello in various amateur groups, and played piano professionally in dance bands, often performing with her husband; she also played guitar. She gave private lessons in Albuquerque and Corrales for many years, and was a substitute teacher in the Albuquerque Public Schools. Marjorie loved to travel. She took more than a dozen trips to Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, which included a year camping in Europe in a VW camper bus with her husband and two sons; more recently, Marjorie and her husband took trips with their grandson though the western states, into Mexico and Canada, and to Portugal. Marjorie loved working in her garden and enjoyed the family pets, which included, over the years, many much loved dogs; and, while living in Corrales, cats, a goat, rooster and other pets.
