Obituary for Murray

Mildred Murray, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Al Murray of Albuquerque; daughter, Joyce Hooper and husband, Larry of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Holly Compiano; great-grandson, Anthony Zenti, both of New Orleans, LA; five step-children and numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Yeager; one son, John Charles Yeager; mother, Clara Manka; and brother, Ret. Col. John Baird. Mildred won numerous awards for her poetry and had several short stories published. She was in the process of publishing a book. Mildred was a member of the New Mexico State Poetry Society, serving as Past President; and was also a member of the Colorado Author's League. She was past president of the Denver Women's Press Club and was a Zone Reporter for The Denver Post. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Friday, August 16, 2002, at 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Rev. Roland McGregor officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas NE, 87110. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
