June S. Wenkle (Lt. Col. US Army Ret), age 86, and an Albuquerque resident for 31 years died August 20, 2002. Survivors include sister, Margaret S. Snyder of Albuquerque; brother, Claude C. Stimson of SC; nephews, Charles M. Pledge of TX and Joseph A. Snyder of Alamogordo, NM. June retired from the US Army in 1971 after 30 years of service. Services will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, August 24, 2002 in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. with Rev. Linda Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is in charge of her arrangements.
