Obituary for Mascarenas

Porfirio, Beloved husband and loving father, peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with emphysema on August 23, 2002. He was born in Chamita, NM to Macedonio and Amalia Mascarenas; married Mary Alire, his beloved wife, on November 15, 1944. Porfirio joined the U.S. Armed Forced in April, 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents, also by an only brother, Joe Mascarenas, April of 1993, as well as by his son, Dennis Robert, April 1995. Porfirio is survived by; his most loving and dedicated wife, Mary of 58 years; son, Joe and wife, Debbie of Albuquerque; daughter, Belinda Bertsch and husband, Jim, Denver, Co.; son, John and wife, Judy, Phoenix, AZ.; daughter, Angela Wisman, Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Gileen Isbel and husband, Curtis, Albuquerque, NM; son, Sisto Mascarenas and wife, Lori, Denver, Co.; daughter, Denise O'Hara and husband, Sargeant James O'Hara, Fort Hood, Texas. Porfiriio is also survived by; his grandchildren, Daniel Mascarenas, Randy and Jay, Katrina, Misty, John Jr., Jennifer, Antoinette, Eddie, Jeremiah, Andy, Nathaniel, and Nicholas. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are; John Mascarenas, Jr., Curtis Isbel, Eddie Ransbottom, Gabe Gonzales, Richard Gleisner, Jay Mascarenas and James Bertsch. Visitation will be held Monday, August 26, 2002 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sandia Funeral Care with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Undienme officiating. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in Santa Fe, NM at St. Francis Cathedral, 131 Cathedral Place, Santa Fe, with The Very Reverend Father Jerome Martinez Y Alire officiating.
