Obituary for Wilson

Evelyn Yonan Wilson born September 11, 1930 in Tagbilaren Bohol, Phillipines, a beloved wife of 48 years to Cecil W. Wilson, Sr., beloved mother of four children, Cecil Jr. passed away at 41 years, Daniel E. Wilson, Marie Hatwan, Phillip Gerard Wilson; nine grandchildren, Rachel Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Alicia Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Rebecca, Royce Wilson, Michol, Kirstin and Luke John Cecil Hatwan. Evelyn was a retired school counselor from the Los Angeles Unified School District and worked with the gangs in East, Los Angeles. She lived in Albuquerque since 1996 where she led and founded the Holy Name of Jesus Prayer Group, along with her husband, Cecil. She taught Scripture Study every Wednesday and conducted Baptismal classes for the last six years at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church on Alameda. She was awarded a scholarship to finish her masters in Theology by Archbishop Sheehan of N.M. Evelyn was also a Eucharistic and Lector Minister. She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish for 40 years in Tujunga, CA where she taught school for 4 years. Her desire was to serve Jesus to the end¯ ¯to serve and not be served. She was a Perpetual Oblate of the Order of Saint Benedict in Pecos, NM. Evelyn tried to share the greatest commandment of all ¯Love one another as Christ loves you, and that starts with yourself first, then your family and then to the community.¯¯ Rosary will be recited, Thursday, August 29, 2002, 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 9502 4th St. NW. Mass will be celebrated, Friday, August 30, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Service and burial will take place at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery in San Fernando, California. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Thursday from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. Donations may be made in her name to the Pecos Monastery (505) 757-6415.
