Obituary for Zamora

Josephine V. Zamora "Gigi" was born on February 27, 1932 and passed away on August 29,2002. She is survived by her husband, Eleno Zamora; her seven children, Elena Zamora and Joe Trujillo, James Zamora and wife, Corina, Edwina Lucero and fiancé, Ed Baca; Julian and fiancéé, Nancy Zamora, Estelle Estrada and husband, Donald, Jerry Zamora and wife, Laura; and Liz Otero and husband, Dominic. Thirteen grandchildren, Maria and Matthew Lucero, Kristina, David and Julianna Zamora, Andrea and Estevan Estrada, Erin, Aimee and Terry Arthur Zamora, and Joseph, Santiago and Dominique Otero. Brothers and sister, Tony Vigil and wife, Elsie, Rosie Parker and husband, Matt, and Manuel Torres and wife, Evelyn. Gigi will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Through diligent prayer and exercise she courageously faced life's challenges. She was born in Old Town and was a life time resident of Albuquerque. Gigi spent most of her teaching career at Griegos Elementary where she taught kindergarten. She retired from teaching at Alamosa Elementary. She was a member of San Felipe Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She lovingly reached out to all and was always devout in her faith. We ask that you remember her in your thoughts and prayers. A rosary will be held at San Felipe De Neri Church on Monday, September 2, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. A viewing will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m. prior to the rosary. The mass to celebrate Gigi's homecoming will also be held at San Felipe De Neri Church on Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Eddie Bachicha, Rueben Herrera, Paul Padilla, Ralph DeLaO, Fred Garcia and Steve Torres. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222.
