Louie C. Vardeman, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with Lord surrounded by his family on Friday, August 30, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby; daughters, Janice Whittaker and husband, Bruce of Sandia Park, and Sandra Lacy of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Greg Whittaker, Arthur C. Manring, and wife, Maureen, Renee Manring-Day, and husband, Neal, and Gaye Lowe and husband, Rob; ten great-grandchildren; and sister, Mamie Vickery of Hubbard, Texas. Mr. Vardeman served his country during WWII in the European Theater. Cremantion has taken place and private family services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the New Mexico Heart Association."I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." - Psalm 91:2
