Obituary for Miller

William L."Bill" Miller, 62, a resident of Albuquerque for many years, died Saturday, August 31, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Frances Miller of Albuquerque; son, Dieter Miller and wife, Elisabeth Miller of Biloxi, MS and their two sons, Demian Miller and wife, Heather Curry of Tampa, FL and Stefan Miller of New Orleans, LA; and daughter, Ursula Miller-Waldrip and husband, Travis Waldrip and their sons, Kevin Waldrip and Erik Waldrip and daughter, Kate Waldrip, all of Colorado Springs, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan Lee and Nettie Leah Miller; and former wife, Gisela Miller in 2001. Mr. Miller had 26 years of distinguished military service in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1984, with duty stations in Japan; Korea; Germany; Amarillo, TX; Biloxi, MS; San Bernardino, CA; and Albuquerque. He loved baseball and coached Air Force teams at Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany from 1973 to 1977 and 1980 to 1983. Mr. Miller completed his bachelors degree, majoring in secondary education and social studies, graduating from the University of New Mexico and then teaching at several A.P.S. high schools before beginning at Cibola High School during the 1990's, where he has been ever since, coaching either the Mock Trial Team or the softball team. Mr. Miller loved to teach and enjoyed the students. He also participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Promise Keepers. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 5, 2002, at 2:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorial services will take place Saturday, September 7, 2002, at 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mock Trial Team, c/o Cibola High School, 1510 Ellison Drive NW, 87114. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
