Obituary for Quintana

Ray B. Quintana, age 77, and former resident of the Barelas Community passed away on September 4, 2002. He was born on March 9, 1925 in Winslow, Arizona. He is survived by three sons, Raymond H. Quintana, Jr. and wife, Virginia, Ray Quintana, Jr. and wife, Rebecca, and Lawrence Quintana and wife, Terri; one daughter, Geraldine P. Montoya and husband, Randy; one stepdaughter, Judy Lucero and husband, Gene; fiancee, Virginia Leatherman; five granddaughters, Elizabeth R. Villarreal, Shirley A. Cole, Becky Quintana, Rachel Tenbrock and Crystal Lucero; nine grandsons, Robert Quintana, Matthew Montoya, Johnny Contreras, Ray Quintana, Daniel Quintana, Michael Quintana, Rueben Quintana, Ryan Quintana and Manuel Lucero; two brothers, Joe Quintana and wife, Aravella, and David Quintana and wife, Sally; and many great-grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Jennie Quintana; two daughters, Marlene R. Campos and Mary Lou Quintana; and son, Robert (Tito Boy) Quintana. Ray was a former member of the Northeast Heights Lions Club of Albuquerque. He was active in various charitable and community organizations that supported youth and seniors around the Albuquerque area. Ray was also a Veteran of World War II serving in the Armed Forces. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, September 7, 2002 and Sunday, September 8, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 412 Stover Ave SW, on Monday, September 9, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Johnny Ray Contreras, Robert Quintana, Larry Villarrela, Michael Villarreal, Daniel Quintana and Michael Quintana. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Garcia and Anthony Ruiz. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery where Ray will be interred with wife, Jennie.
