Obituary for Goss

Jeanne Francis Goss of Austin, Texas, and formerly a longtime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on September 5, 2002, following a prolonged convalescence. Born November 12, 1916 to Nellie and Frank Rankin in Sedalia, Missouri, Jeanne spent a lifetime in various business and accounting positions, retiring from the Albuquerque Public School District in 1979. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emmett D. Goss, who passed away in 1983. Mrs. Goss was a 38-year resident of Albuquerque, a lifetime member of the First Christian Church and social organizations including the Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi business fraternity and the Elks Club. Jeanne is survived by her two daughters, Judy Davis and Kay Sublett and husband, Collier of Austin, Texas; three granddaughters, Robin Townsend of Sandpoint, Idaho and Kelli Shepperd and Kerri Neumann of Austin Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Tiffani and Cory Shepperd of Austin. Viewing and visitation will be held Saturday, September 7, 2002 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Sandia Memory Gardens 9500 San Pedro NE with Dr. Michael Oden officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Austin. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is handling arrangements.
