Ruth Manzanares, born March 29, 1936, departed Monday, September 9, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Benito Manzanares; two sons, Joseph Manzanares and wife, Tina and Leroy Manzanares; two daughters, Barbara Manzanares and Annette Munoz and husband, Andrew, all of Albuquerque; mother, Viola Ortiz of Garcia, CO; five brothers, Frank Ortiz and wife, Verna of Costilla, NM, Ben Ortiz and wife, Celia of Pueblo, CO, Dale Ortiz and wife, Jeannette, Kenny Ortiz and wife Renee and Micheal Ortiz and wife, Sandy, all of Colorado Springs, CO; four sisters, JoAnn Lucero, Hazel Martinez and husband, Harland, Tita Padilla and husband, Charlie, Theresa Cordova and husband, Moises, all of Garcia, CO; mother-in-law, Lucy Manzanares; in-laws, Gloria and Juan Peralez, Florance and Joseph Marquez, Henrietta and Patricia; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Rudy Ortiz; two sisters; two brothers; her son, Ricky; and daughter, Eileen. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Rosary will be recited Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Costilla, NM. Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Costilla, NM. Interment will follow at Garcia Cemetery in Garcia, CO. Pallbearers will be Anthony Ulibarri, Andrew Munoz, Anthony Manzanares, Andrew Munoz, Jr., Marcus Lucero, Rodney Arellano, Julian Padilla and Erica Padilla. Honorary Pallbearers will be Monique Manzanares, Rebecca Munoz, Mariah Manzanares, A.J. Griego, Eliza Marquez, Mattie Delong, Michelle Marquez, Lori Ann Brown and Andrea Duran.
