Obituary for Yonkers

Theodore H. Yonkers, age 83, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2002. He was born in Whitesboro, NY, September 30, 1919, the son of John and Hannah Yonkers. Mr. Yonkers was a graduate of Colgate University in Hamilton, NY, and had a career as a self employed insurance adjuster. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army in the CBI Region, (China, Burma, India). He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #799 of Oriskany, NY. Mr. and Mrs. Yonkers moved to Albuquerque in 1975 following retirement. Survivors include Derfla, his beloved wife; children, Alfred Williams, Kirk Williams and wife, Shirley, and Cindi Williams and husband, Peter Jamison; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cassandra Geiger. Mr. Yonkers was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4. The church is located at 1100 Indian School NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or a charity of your choice are suggested.
