Obituary for Burke

Edward E. Burke, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974 after moving here from Centerville, MA, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2002. He is survived by two sons, Kenneth and wife, Ann and Robert; grandchildren, Jamie Morley, Lisa Tokarski, Stephen Burke and Anthony Burke; one great-grandchild, Kenny Morley; and sisters, Lester Ringer and Lorraine Tennent. He was preceded in death by Anna, the mother of his children who passed away in 1975; and his second wife Gerritdena; his mother, Elsie; father, Edward; and two brothers, Russell and William. Edward served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a fulltime member of the Massachusetts National Guard. Edward worked at the Hyannis National Guard Armory as a Supply Sergeant until his retirement in 1969. While in good health, he attended Asbury Methodist Church. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Pastor Clyde Stanfield officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stephen and Anthony Burke, Kenny Morley, Nathan Morley, Dave Van Pelt and Lloyd Marrujo. The family wishes to thank the staff of Manor Care and Quality Continuum Hospice for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to the National World War II Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 96766, Washington, DC 20090-6706.
