Bettie H. Follingstad, born October 11, 1906 and a resident of New Mexico since 1938, died on Friday, August 2, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Thomas H. Follingstad and wife, Mary Kay, of Albuquerque, James R. Follingstad and friend Sandra Openheimer of Santa Fe, and Richard H. Follingstad and wife, Caroll, of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Debbie, Eric, Jason, Gretel and Devin; four great grandchildren, Alisan, Mackenzie, Emily and Adrian; sister, Dorothy Williams of Dayton, Ohio. Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Alvin Follingstad. Bettie was school teacher for many years. She loved her family, music, dance and raising beautiful roses. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Lovelace Hospice and the Arvilla House. Cremation has taken place and there will be a Memorial Service on October 25, 2002, 4:00 p.m. for friends and family at First Presbyterian Church in the Chapel, Pastor Paul Debenport, officiating.
