Obituary for Bernal

Rose Bernal, 72, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, October 25, 2002, peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dalio Bernal in May 1999. She is survived by her children, Virginia Sanchez, Madeline Bernal, Michael Bernal, Patsy Tavarez, Sandra Domiguez, Mary (Lena) Garcia and Renee Rose Bernal; their spouses, Louie Sanchez, Bobby Gonzales, Barbara Bernal, Jaime Tavarez, Johnny Dominguez and Eddie Garcia. Rose was blessed with her grandchildren, Brian and Louie (We/G) Sanchez, Yvonee Gonzales, Melissa Bernal, Melinda Bernal, Dalio (DJ) Tavarez, Ursula Contreras, Mario Dominguez and Joseph (EJ) Garcia; and three great-grandchildren, Brian Sanchez, Alyssa Contreras and Justin Contreras. She is also survived by her step-mother, Feloniz Duran; brothers and sisters and their families, Jerry Duran, Orlando Duran, Manuel Duran, Delma Gonzales, Eligio Duran, Angelica Duran, Raymond Duran, Philbert Duran, Lupita Morgas, Nancy Morgas and Patsy Sanchez; brother-in-law, Phillip Baca and wife, Juanita; sisters-in-law, Ricky Smith and Anita Andrade and husband, Joe; and many nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited Monday, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, 5525 Fortuna NW. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Sanchez, We/G Sanchez, Mario Dominguez, EJ Garcia, Melissa Bernal and Melinda Bernal. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Valenzuela, Orlando Duran, Tony Contreras, Phillip Baca and Carlos (Carlitos) Ortiz. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mom, life has been so wonderful because of all you have done for us. You created such warm feelings, brought so much happiness and gave us so much love. Thank You. We know as you reached the Gates where the Light of Lights poured out, your angel met you with extended arms welcoming you into Heaven, and you were greeted by shouts of joy saying"You're Home!"
