Obituary for Duran

Corina Romero Duran, 87, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2002. She had struggled courageously with end-stage renal disease for several years. Her late husband, Frank E. Duran passed away in 1972. Corina was born October 18, 1915, in Chacon, NM the daughter of Manuel and Eloisa Romero. She was the second of six daughters and is survived by one sister, Emma Manzanares, of Walnut Creek, CA. Also surviving her are her children, Arthur, Tobias, Eddie, Dan and Jim Duran and Frances Williams. Corina had 11 grandchildren, Mariana Walker, Mark and David Duran, Tommy, Tanya, Tamra and Toby McBride, Francela Duran, Lorina Gifford, Juanita Alma Duran, and Scott Duran. Her great-grandchildren are Natalie Scoggins Duran, Johanna Scoggins, Tyler and Jacob McBride, Monique and Marina Guzman, and Lindsley Gifford. Corina worked for Bernalillo County Parks and Rec. at Westside Comm. Cntr. for many years, later she was a faithful volunteer at Armijo Meal Site. A devoted member of Second Presbyterian Church, Corina was active in Presbyterian Women. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church. Her cremains will be interred beside her husband at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
