Howard Allen Jones, age 72 passed away peacefully on Saturday October 26, 2002, surrounded by his loving and devoted children and grandchildren. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife Rita Jones; father, Emery Jones, Sr.; mother, Hattie C. Jones; and grandson Josh a Jones. He is survived by his daughter Vickie L. Fletcher and husband, Larry, of Belen, New Mexico; his son, Rick A. Jones and wife, Vicki, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Dawn Sutherland, Diana Brown, Debra Shurtz, Rickie Jones, Jr., Matt Jones, Charmaine Jones; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Howard has been a resident of Bosque Farms, New Mexico since 1970 and spent a great deal of his life in business as a mechanical contractor. He was past president of the Mechanical Contractors Associations, a retired member of UA Local 412 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, and a Veteran in the Korean War. Viewing and visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Services for Mr. Jones will be Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Palm Chapel inside the Mortuary. Internment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE is handling his arrangements.
