Obituary for Romero

Barbara C. (Forsyth) Romero, 60, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died Monday, October 28, 2002 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Lorenzo Romero; son, Daniel Lopez; mother, Mildred Forsyth; aunt, Norma Hendershot; and many cousins, great cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son,"Thomas" Lopez; and father, Thomas N. Forsyth. Barbara was born in Summit, NJ, then lived in Chatham where she attended the College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station, NJ, graduating with a B.A. She then received her Masters in Spanish from the University of Colorado. She was also a member of the National Honor Society of Secondary Schools. Barbara taught in Summit Jr. High School. She moved to Albuquerque in 1969 and taught at San Felipe, Our Lady of The Annunciation Church, and for the past 11 years, at Bernalillo Middle School until her retirement due to illness. Prayer Services will be held Friday, November 1, 2002, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Deacon Bob Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A special thank you to Dr. Weiler and the nurses at Lovelace Hospice for the care they gave her. Also a thank you to the Eucharistic Minister of St. Bernadette Church and Deacon Bob Martinez.
