Obituary for Stroup

Robert John Stroup, 15, a resident of Moriarty, NM passed away November 2, 2002, in Moriarty, NM. Robbie was born April 15, 1987 to John E. and Berniece A. (Jewell) Stroup, in Warren, OH. Robbie was a 9th grade student at Moriarty High School, where he was very proud to be in the JROTC program. He also was very active with the Woo Lee Tai-Kwon-Do in Moriarty, and loved playing baseball for the Moriarty Braves AABC. Robbie was an avid hot air balloonist, and worked on many chase crews. He had worked for Roller King in Albuquerque, and for Jenks Café in Moriarty. Robbie was a loving son, brother, and friend, and had dreams of joining the Air Force and Flying. He is survived by his parents, John E. and Berniece A. Stroup; brother, Andrew N. Palmer; sister, Kendra C. Palmer; grandparents, Harry N. Jewell and Lillian C. Jewell; step-grandfather, Herbert A. Jackson; aunts, Marsha L. Jewell, Toro, Datchuk-Johnson, Margaret A. Jewell, Arlene Crum-Rupnick, Brenda Sweely, and Shirleen Wheeler; uncles, Shirley"Skip" D. Igo, Phillip C. Igo, and Duane Igo; numerous cousins; and best friend's, Ben Wetherill and Scott Bloomer and various friends. Robbie is preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter S. Stroup and Colleen Igo-Stroup-Jackson. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2002, 7:00 p.m. at the Moriarty High School Gymnasium, with Pastor Donna Jackson officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. 832-6130
