Obituary for Mexal

Mary Frances Mexal (age 76), 'Buck' to her family and friends, died Thursday, November 21, 2002. She was born in Oplin, TX, the third of three daughters to Dewey Crenshaw and Maud Oglesby Crenshaw. She is survived by her sister, Maudell Berglund and her husband, Marlon of Albuquerque; daughter, Catherine Mexal of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Regina Thomas and her husband, William and their daughter, Ellie of Ravenden, AR; son, Mark and his wife, Sandra and their children, Patrick and Kate of Scottsdale, AZ; son, John and his wife, Barbara and their sons, Stephen of Denver, CO and Nicolas of Las Cruces, NM; niece and nephews; and her good friend, Beulah Boles of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Oma; and husband, Gustaf Mexal. With enormous bravery, she moved to Albuquerque in 1962 with her four young children to build a new life. Her sister, Maudell with her husband Marlon offered their home and wonderful moral and financial support to help them get settled in their new home. She resided in Albuquerque for over 40 years where she was a license practical nurse at Presbyterian Hospital for nearly 20 years. She loved gardening and bingo and was an excellent cook. She had a great sense of humor coupled with southern charm. She will be missed by all who loved her. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
