Obituary for Mcgee

Sylvia Louise McGee, who was born April 14, 1911 in Worchester, Mass., the daughter of the Rev. Sylvester P. and Ethlyn Robertson, passed away in Albuquerque the morning of Wednesday, November 27, 2002. Sylvia graduated from Northfield Seminary in Northfield, MA, after which she moved to Aberdeen, WA to be near her family, and in 1929 enrolled in nurses training at St. Joseph's Hospital. While completing her training to become a registered nurse, she met Lyle B. Kenyon. They married on July 29, 1934 at St. Andrew Episcopal Church, with her father, The Rev."Tex" Robertson officiating. In 1940, the family moved to Port Townsend, WA where Sylvia was an active member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, and where she worked at the hospital for over 30 years. Lyle Kenyon died September 25, 1969. On March 10, 1972, Sylvia married Ervin McGee in Port Townsend where they lived until moving to Albuquerque in 1981. Mac died in 1996, and in 1997 Sylvia moved to Bear Canyon Estates where she was living at the time of her death. Sylvia moved to Bear Canyon Estates where she was living at the time of her death. Sylvia leaves her son, Brad Kenyon and wife, Shirley, who was Sylvia's"pal" to the end; and their sons, Samuel and Robert of Denver, CO, and Peter of Seattle, WA; and daughters, Donna and Sandra of Monterey, CA, and Susan of Discovery Bay, CA; and also by her son, Jim Kenyon of Playa Del Ray, CA; and his children, Betsy and Matt of Los Angeles; and Jenny who like her grandmother is a registered nurse, of Spokane, WA. Sylvia also leaves three great-grandchildren. Cremation arrangements are by Sunrise Society, 891-8200
