Fred H. McClure, November 26, 1917 - November 27, 2002. He is survived by his brother, John; sister-in-law, Cornelia; sister, Mary of Albuquerque; as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Detroit, MI, he lived and was educated in Cleveland, OH until 1956, when he moved to California. He was valedictorian of his class at Cathedral Latin High School in 1935 and, after service in WWII, he graduated Magna-Cum-Laude from John Carroll University in 1953, and received a Master's Degree from Western Reserve University in 1956. His business career extended from 1936 to 1953, when he began to teach at John Carroll University. He moved to California where he taught at Foothill Junior College for 30 years. His military service began when he enlisted in October 1941. He spent time overseas in Hawaii in the Infantry and in England as a Supply Officer in the Air Force. He returned to the U.S. in 1945 and joined the Air Force Reserves. His rank at death was that of Lt. Col., Ret. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Thursday, December 5, 2002, from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held Thursday, at 2:00 p.m., at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
