Charles Edgar, age 87¯early Fri., Dec. 6, 2002, at his home. A Brentwood, Missouri (St. Louis Co.) resident since 1957.¯Immediate survivors are Maxine Kinnear Boles, his wife of 54 years; son, Mark Boles of the home; son Ed and his wife, Michele Minnis of Corrales, New Mexico.¯The 8th of 12 children born to Ellen(nee Hutton) and Porter M. Boles of Greene Co., Tennessee; he is also survived by sisters, Helen B. Bohl, Ruth A. Boles, Mary F. Gray and brother, Thomas R. Boles, all of Greeneville, TN and several nieces and nephews to whom he was"Uncle Big Boy".¯A crewman of the USS Saratoga during WWII,¯he later made a civilian career supporting military aviation at Boeing Corp., and McConnell AFB in Wichita, Kansas and the US Army Aviation Systems Command in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Boles designed and meticulously built wood furniture and objects as a hobby.¯Well into his 80's he still hand-split firewood with a neighbor. He loved playing with children and they with him. No local services to be held.¯
