Carmen (Granny) Alarid, 94, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, December 12, 2002. She is survived by her son, Pete Alarid of Santa Fe; granddaughters, Nancy Jo Alarid and Pamela J. Alarid, both of Santa Fe, Judy Rizek and husband, Tim of Albuquerque, Eleanor Olsen and husband Chris of Sidney, NE and Roberta Oritz of Albuquerque; grandsons, Richard S. Alarid of Santa Fe, John J. Ortiz of Dayton, OH and Jerry T. Ortiz and wife, Patty of Albuquerque; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Deacon Tom Jones reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 4020 Lomas NE, with Father Francis X. Eggert, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Tim Rizek, Jr., Jason Rizek, Bradley Alarid, Jeffery Alarid, Tim Rizek, Sr., and Jerry Ortiz. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Sunday, 3:00 p.m. until Rosary.
