Obituary for Valdez

Francis P. Valdez, 90, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away on December 11, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ida E. Valdez of Cuba, NM; daughter, Betty Foster and husband, George of Las Vegas, NM; son, Robert F. Valdez and wife, Lucille of Cuba, NM; grandsons, Robert Valdez and Al Foster and wife, Erica all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Carol Montoya and husband, Jody of Cuba, NM, Sandra Foster of Las Vegas, NM and Isabel Valdez of Farmington, NM. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Francis was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was involved with the F.H.A.; he also served on the school board in Cuba, NM. Service will take place on Monday, December 16, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 blocks N. of Paseo del Norte) with Reverend Jaime Quinones and Reverend Wilfred Sawyier, officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Francis' grandchildren. Friends may visit French Mortuary - Westside Chapel on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
