Obituary for Mossman

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday December 15, 2002

Doreen G. Mossman, 89, passed away in Albuquerque on December 2, 2002. Born in England, Doreen came to New Mexico in 1947 to marry her late husband, George Mossman. A survivor of the German blitz, she met and fell in love with George while he was with the U. S. Army Air Corps in Britain during WWII. Doreen quickly adopted Albuquerque as her hometown, and she and George were active in the local business community and social scene. Many will remember Doreen's strong British ways, including a penchant for letting others know when they were not behaving"properly." An impeccable dresser, she worked for years at Kistler-Collister where stylish Albuquerque ladies sought her advice on fashion and grooming. Doreen is survived by cousin, Walter Hines and wife, Bettie of Albuquerque; nephew, Dr. Philip Isaac and wife, Jane of Oklahoma City; niece, Patricia Fowler and husband, Colin of Mallorca; and many local friends, including Peggy Piper and Jo Paige. A private memorial is pending. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Presbyterian Hospice.
