Obituary for Jones

Jane Palmer died peacefully on December 16, 2002 at her home in Paonia, CO. Jane will be remembered as a mother, teacher, artist, mentor and world traveller. Jane was the mother of five: Leslie Christopher, Philip (Susan) Munoz, Stephen (Kyra) Munoz, Heather (Rachel King) Jones and Laurel Jones; grandmother of six: Mickey, Alex, Ryan, Miranda, Ivan and Damian; and friend to Karen, Ramya, Linda, Terry, Cougar, Fred and Giandavid. As a bilingual and English-as-a-second-language teacher, Jane had a strong positive influence on many young people. In over three decades of teaching she developed lasting relationships with students in Arizona, New Mexico and China. Born December 7, 1932 in New London, Ohio to Omer and Ruth Rich, Jane received her B.A. (French) and M.A. (Spanish language and literature) from the University of Arizona. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Doug. Jane's spirit and energy will be greatly missed.
