Margaret Elizabeth Bradshaw"Marge" Fletcher passed away early in the morning, December 21, 2002, in Las Cruces, at the home of her daughter, Jean Pritchard. Marge, a resident of Mesilla Valley for 57 years, was born December 25, 1921, in Dallas, Texas. She is the only daughter of Thomas E. Bradshaw and Floe Belle McCormick, both natives of Illinois. After spending her early years in Dallas and Houston, she graduated from Austin High School in El Paso, Texas in 1939, and then attended the Texas College of Mines in El Paso and later Woodbury Art Institute in Los Angeles, California. Her formal education was interrupted by war, and in 1944 she married Lt. Leigh Fox Fletcher in Sioux City, Iowa, where he was stationed with the US Army Air Forces. After the war, Marge and Leigh returned to Las Cruces, where she set up her homemaking on the family farm north of Las Cruces. This pioneering, agricultural operation eventually became known as Fletcher Farm Inc., and Marge played a central role in its expansion and development as and officer and board member of the corporation. Marge was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two brothers, Thomas Eugene and Kenneth Donald Bradshaw. She was a devoted mother of four and grandmother of eight. She is survived by all her children and grandchildren: Donald Fox Fletcher and his wife, Nell of Albuquerque, Leslie Sidney Fletcher and his wife, Renai, and Jean Douglas Fletcher Pritchard and her husband, David, all of Las Cruces, and Marleigh Fletcher of Tempe, Arizona; grandchildren, Zachary Fletcher Evans, Austin Fox Fletcher, Jon Byron Fletcher, Alexander Fletcher Pritchard, Samuel Johnson Maxwell Prichard, James Devin Fletcher, Jack Samuel Johnson Prichard, and Elizabeth (Lizzy) Marie Pritchard. Marge also leaves behind many dear friends, members of her weekly bridge clubs that met and enjoyed each others company for nearly 50 years, Alice Aylor, Fern Dahlgren, Cille Darden, Virginia Eubanks, Virginia Francis, Bernice Higgins, Jo Holden, Ruth Jones, Sara Law, Audrey Lundsford, Velma McCowan, Bobbie Myers, Dorothy Nelson, Mary Pulis, Joan Reeves, and Sarah Wilburn. Cremation has taken place, and interment will be held at Masonic Cemetery on Friday, December 27, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the sanctuary of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299 E.
